Xanga.com is a young and exciting web community company with over 30 million users throughout the world. You can use your Xanga site to write about your day, keep in touch with friends, and share photos or videos.
We are looking for an exceptional web designer to update the design of our current pages as well as design pages for new features. You will have a lot of freedom over the entire design of the site, and the practices you put in place will guide the design of future products. The designs you create will be viewed by users for different skill levels, so elegant, practical and simple designs are key.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design web pages that are elegant, practical and simple
- Create these pages in HTML/CSS/Javascript
- Develop a design standard and CSS hierarchy to guide the design of future pages
- Interact with team members to create compelling features
- Willing to have an active role in the entire product development process
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience designing for the web
- Experience with HTML/CSS/Javascript
- A passion to learn and keep up with the latest technologies
- Living in or willing to relocate to the New York City area
- Knowledge of HCI is a plus
- Knowledge of programming languages a plus
